Karl is a paramedic and Assistant Chief at New Paltz Rescue, bringing decades of military and emergency service experience to his community. He began his professional journey in the United States Marine Corps, serving five years before embarking on an 18-year career with the U.S. Coast Guard. During his final year in the Coast Guard, Karl entered the EMS field with Midwood Ambulance in Brooklyn, setting the foundation for his future in prehospital care.

After retiring from the Coast Guard, he joined Mobile Life Support Services just one week later, continuing his commitment to serving others. Karl has also worked with Diaz Ambulance and the Woodstock Fire Department, broadening his experience in diverse emergency response environments. His career reflects a lifelong dedication to service, leadership, and helping others during their most critical moments.
