Kevin Hauenstein
Director Base Operations
Kevin Hauenstein is a dedicated paramedic, educator, and EMS leader with a strong foundation in military and emergency medical services. Kevin served as an Army Combat Medic (68W) from 2013 to 2017, including a combat deployment to Afghanistan, and was honorably discharged following his active-duty service.
Following his military career, Kevin pursued advanced medical education at Dutchess Community College, earning his Associate’s Degree in Paramedicine. Since entering commercial EMS in 2020, he has built a reputation for clinical proficiency, leadership, and compassionate patient care.
In 2025, Kevin joined New Paltz Rescue Squad, where he currently serves in multiple leadership roles, including Field Training Officer, Duty Supervisor, and Director of Base Operations. In addition to his field leadership, Kevin has been a Lab Instructor at Dutchess Community College since 2024, helping educate and mentor the next generation of EMS professionals.
Kevin is highly motivated and education-focused, bringing compassion, professionalism, and teamwork to every aspect of his career. He strives to leave every patient better than he found them, while serving as a calm and reassuring presence for patients and their families during what may be one of the most difficult days of their lives. Guided by his personal motto, “One Team, One Fight,” Kevin remains committed to serving his community with humility, empathy, and excellence.
